Kannawidan Festival: A Celebration of Heritage

   

    The Kannawidan Festival is a lively celebration in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, held from late January to early February to mark the province’s foundation anniversary. "Kannawidan" means "heritage" in Ilocano, showing the festival’s goal of preserving traditions. 

    The festival has many exciting activities, including street dancing, trade fairs and art exhibits. The street dancing contest is one of the most popular event, with performers wearing colorful costumes and dancing to traditional music. The trade fair showcase local products like Vigan longganisa, crispy bagnet, and Abel Iloco fabric, giving visitors a taste of Ilocano culture.
